The simple ground rules for working with Milton Bird Boarding — how inquiries and bookings work, what we each agree to, and how we keep your bird's stay smooth and worry-free.

About These Terms

These terms cover your use of the Milton Bird Boarding website and the bird boarding and sitting services we offer in Milton, Ontario. By sending us an inquiry or booking a stay, you agree to the terms below. We have kept them plain and friendly, because that is how we like to work. If anything is unclear, just ask before you book.

How an Inquiry Becomes a Booking

Submitting our contact form is the start of a conversation, not a confirmed booking. When you reach out, we will reply to talk through your bird's needs, your dates, and availability. A booking is only confirmed once we have agreed on the details together and you have received our confirmation. We book on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend reaching out at least a week ahead, and earlier around holidays when demand is highest. If we cannot accommodate your dates, we will let you know honestly rather than overbook.

Custom Quotes & Pricing

Every bird and every stay is a little different, so we provide a custom quote rather than a fixed price list. Your quote reflects the service you choose, the length of the stay, the type and number of birds, and any special care your bird needs. We will share your quote before anything is confirmed, so you always know the cost up front. Quotes are valid for the dates and details discussed; if those change, the quote may be adjusted, and we will confirm any change with you first.

What We Ask of You

To give your bird the best possible care, we count on you to be open and accurate with us. Before a stay, please let us know about your bird's diet, routine, temperament, any health conditions or medications, and anything that helps it feel at ease. We ask that:

If Your Bird Needs Care

We watch over the birds in our care attentively and will contact you right away if we have any concern about your bird's wellbeing. If your bird needs urgent attention and we cannot reach you in time, you authorize us to seek veterinary care on your behalf, with any related costs being your responsibility. We will always try to reach you first and follow your wishes wherever possible.

Changing or Cancelling a Stay

Plans change, and we understand that. If you need to cancel or change a confirmed booking, please let us know as early as you can so we can offer the spot to another family. We appreciate as much notice as possible, especially during busy holiday periods. Any specific cancellation or deposit terms for your stay will be confirmed with you at the time of booking, so everything is clear in advance with no surprises.

Our Commitment & Its Limits

We care for every bird as if it were our own and take reasonable, attentive steps to keep it safe, healthy, and comfortable throughout its stay. At the same time, birds are living animals, and even with the best care some risks — such as illness, stress, or natural behaviour — cannot be entirely eliminated. By booking with us, you accept that Milton Bird Boarding is not liable for outcomes that occur despite reasonable care, including those arising from a bird's pre-existing health conditions, age, or temperament, or from information that was not shared with us. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited under applicable Ontario or Canadian law.

Drop-Off, Pick-Up & Belongings

We will agree on drop-off and pick-up arrangements together when your booking is confirmed. Please collect your bird at the agreed time, and let us know promptly if you are delayed so we can plan around it. Any cage, carrier, toys, or supplies you leave with us are your property; we will take good care of them, but normal wear from everyday use can happen and is not something we can be responsible for.
